Founded in 2010, Spartan Race is the global leader in the sport of obstacle racing. Spartan races cater to individuals looking to test their physical limits and change their frame of reference for what they can accomplish, from everyday people looking to get off the couch and lead a fitter lifestyle, to elite endurance athletes who seek the ultimate physical test.

Reporting to the Race Director, the Course Support is responsible for marking courses at Spartan Race events, alongside with the Course Manager. This person is also responsible for marking courses based on Spartan Races’ best practices, with little to no oversight.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- With direction from the Race Director and Course Manager sufficiently marks a course using marking tape and directional arrows based on Race Director guidelines and an existing course design;
- Ensures the core product of Spartan Race (the course) is built within company guidelines for mileage, throughout, challenge, and safety;
- Takes creative liberties to enhance the racer experience leveraging existing unique terrain;
- Assists in directing volunteers to help finish all course marking within the given timeframe;
- Addresses any course issues on race day, being proactive about searching for problems before they happen;
- Assist and co-manages all Course Operations personnel including pre-runners, course pullers, and course sweepers;

**Qualifications**:

- Comfortable traveling for two (2) weeks’ at a time.
- Have personal experience racing, preferably trail racing and/or OCR
- Comfortable reading a map and terrain
- Comfortable operating independently when necessary
- Thrive in a fast paced high stimulus environment and be able to multitask.
- Have the physical stamina required to walk many miles each day carrying a backpack full of supplies.
- Comfortable using GPS and supporting technology

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $200.00-$250.00 per day

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
