Kelowna, Canada VAS Masonry Full time

Masonry Laborer Job Description

Overview - Masonry is a production-oriented trade, the number of bricks, blocks, or square feet of stone installed can be easily measured each day. This means that every minute a mason spends doing any task other than installing product is missed production. Laborers can greatly improve production by completing most or all tasks that a trained mason is not needed to complete. Laborers are essential to the team in a masonry business, and work alongside masons. Laborers also have key areas of responsibility, that they will be expected to do independently of instruction after initial training. Laborers will need to focus on completing priority tasks, and then work on secondary tasks when time becomes available. Trained laborers can and should be able to complete all priority and secondary tasks consistently. Laborers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and be able to transport themselves to and from various job site locations.

Priority Tasks - All tasks directly related to supplying immediate needs of masons. If these tasks are not completed by a laborer the mason is forced to stop installing throughout the day to complete them.
