**About Us**:
The Grand River Council on Aging (Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations, New Credit) is a registered charitable non-profit organization dedicated to building an age-friendly community for all residents. Through optimizing opportunities for health, participation, and security, the GRCOA is committed to educating the community about, and advancing research of, issues faced by older adults, while supporting the social participation and inclusion of seniors for successful and healthy aging.

**Volunteer Coordinator Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Reporting to the Executive Director, orientating, and matching volunteers to opportunities and activities
- Volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, retention, and recognition (including hosting a volunteer recognition event)
- Maintenance of a volunteer database
- Using social media, print, and other communication tools, develop and implement a plan to actively promote the GRCOA need for volunteers
- Develop and chair a Volunteer Committee to ensure volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition is sustainable

**What we are looking for**:

- An energetic, self-starter with excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Proficiency with technology, including capacity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently, with accountability to the Executive Director
- University or college degree/diploma preferred (Certificate in Volunteer Management is an asset)
- Demonstrated experience in a Volunteer Coordinator role or similar position
- Proven ability to train, engage, motivate and retain volunteers
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle/reliable transportation (to attend events as required)
- Current criminal reference check - vulnerable sector is required prior to hiring.

**Contracted Fixed Term: Immediate until June 28, 2024 Salary: $30 per hour Part-time 30 hour/week**

**Education**:
