**OVERVIEW**
**Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is a unique and high profile tourist attraction located in Cambridge Ontario. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for greeting visitors, processing admissions, providing visitor information, processing gift store transactions as well as assisting with coverage for gift store, admissions and café coverage.**
**REPORTS DIRECTLY TO**
Gift Store Manager > Financial Controller
**CONTRACT DURATION**
- September - April
**HOURS**
- Up to 15 hours per week
- Weekend and weekday shifts
- Staff are required to be available for our busiest events including: Family Day weekend, March Break, Easter weekend, Canada Day weekend, July and August, Labour Day weekend and Christmas break etc.
(PLEASE NOTE: The Conservatory is **OPEN all other major holidays, with the exception of December 24-25-26**.)
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills, responsible and enthusiastic attitude
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Background knowledge in nature study, interpretation and education are an asset
- Standard First Aid and Level C- CPR qualifications
- Current Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Job Program
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Gift Store & Admissions & Cafe
- Greeting Visitors in friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Providing information to visitors and answering phone inquiries
- Processing transactions in multiple departments (Gift Store, Admissions, Café), memberships and renewals, online tickets etc.
- Tagging inventory and stocking shelves as required
- Preparing cooked meals in the café (training will be provided)
- Assist with food service in café as required
- Provide coverage for lunches and breaks in the Gift Store, Admissions Counter and Café
**_Conservatory_**
- Greet and welcome visitors and support them in their visit of the Conservatory
- Assist visitors in their discovery of the Conservatory and exhibits by engaging them in conversation about interesting/unique facts
- Assist visitors in identifying butterflies, plants and birds in the Conservatory as required
- Ensure pathways in conservatory are tidy and free from slip & trip hazards including plant material
- Keep windows, surfaces, exhibits and signage clean in work and display areas
- Assist with care and feeding of birds, butterflies, fish, turtles, plants and other insects/arachnids as instructed by the Conservatory Manager
**Additional Duties**
- Other duties to support daily operations and customer service as assigned
- Adhere to all Company policies, rules, systems and procedures which are outlined in the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory Employee Handbook, as well as all Health and Safety policies and procedures and safe work practices
**UNIFORM**
- Staff are required to wear a uniform at all times in accordance with the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory Employee Handbook
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months
Part-time hours: 15 per week
**Salary**: $16.50 per hour
