**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Accounts Payable Clerk processes invoices for payment and performs general clerical accounting duties.

**JOB TASKS**:

- Receives invoices from suppliers; processes for payment with a three-way match (invoice, purchase order, packing/receiving slip)
- Collects and sorts receiving slips daily
- Posts accounts payable invoices in accounting system
- Follows up on receiving issues such as missing slips or errors
- Follows up on purchase order issues such as wrong quantities, missing POs, etc.
- Assists with processing ACH’s, EFT’s, and cheques for weekly payments to suppliers
- Monitors opportunities for supplier discounts
- Completes bank deposits; uses Cheque Scanner
- Completes month end accrual reports and investigates discrepancies
- Aids with month end accounts payable reconciliation
- Assists with filing copies of cheques and back-up documents
- Acts as backup for other accounts payable functions

**COMPETENCIES**:

- Proficient in the use of Excel software program
- Good verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented

**REQUIRMENTS**:

- High School diploma, or equivalent

**PREFFERED**:

- Completion of post-secondary basic accounting course
