We are currently looking for a **Day Camp Counsellor** to join our team of committed professionals. This **full-time summer contract** position position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s **Durham **location in **Sudbury**.

**START DATE**: July 2, 2023

**LOCATION**:Sudbury

**RATE OF PAY**:$15.50-$17.00 per hour

**HOURS**:44 per week

**Major Responsibilities**
- Plan and deliver daily programs: group games, crafts, swimming, outside time, etc.
- Supervise, engage and participate with the program participants in group activities
- Communicate with all staff
- Ensure safety of all participants, property, staff and volunteers by established practices and procedures
- Maintain the inventory of required supplies and request more when needed
- Welcome all children to programs
- Represent the YMCA in a professional manner at all times
- Communication with parents on a daily basis
- Tracking daily attendance
- Post weekly programming schedule
- Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization

**Qualifications**
- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) preferred
- Experience working/leading group activities with children ages 3 to 12 years of age (i.e. babysitting)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

**Salary**: $15.50-$17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Greater Sudbury, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
