**Position Summary**

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive veterinary services in a high-quality, high-volume clinical environment. Your expertise will directly impact the health and well-being of our patients, and you will have the opportunity to work with diverse clientele, providing education and support.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Conduct thorough examinations of patients to assess health and determine treatment needs.
- Formulate effective treatment plans tailored to individual patients.
- Prescribe medications and implement appropriate medical interventions.
- Perform surgeries, including dental procedures, within a high-volume context.
- Consult with clients to provide education and resources for animal care, fostering a supportive environment.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency.

**Requirements**:
To qualify, you will need at least the following:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Unrestricted General Practice Licensing with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA).
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to providing excellent client service and education.
- Attention to Detail: Highly observant with strong organizational skills to monitor patient health and meet required timelines.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and being on your feet for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a passion for animal welfare.
- Commitment to Growth: Ongoing dedication to professional development and staying updated on best practices and advancements in veterinary medicine.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with adaptability and results-driven mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective volunteer management.
- Deep commitment to our organization's mission and values.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Effective at building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including discretion.

- Exceptional attention to detail and record-keeping.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Kind, patient, and flexible in handling change positively.
- Demonstrates unwavering confidentiality.

Although not required, we consider the following to be valuable assets:

- Experience in high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter settings.
- Proficient in providing contextualized and spectrum of care veterinary medicine.
- Experience working with marginalized socioeconomic groups, demonstrating cultural competency and empathy.
- Experience with non-profit operations.
- A background in the animal welfare sector.
