About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team as a Mobile Veterinarian in Calgary. This is a unique opportunity for someone who values flexibility and is looking for a work-life balance.
Job Summary
This role involves delivering high-quality veterinary care to companion animals in the comfort of their own homes. As a Mobile Veterinarian, you will attend multiple in-home appointments each day, providing exams, vaccinations, and other non-surgical services. You will also maintain exceptional record-keeping and follow-up to ensure every patient receives professional and thorough treatment.
Responsibilities
- Attend in-home appointments to deliver high-quality veterinary care to companion animals
- Ensure the safety of both yourself and clients during appointments
- Provide in-home veterinary care, including exams, vaccinations, FNA, small lump removal, blood/urine collection, suturing small wounds, nail trims, home euthanasia, and other typical non-surgical services
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and treatments
- Communicate effectively with clients to educate them on their pets' health and provide recommendations for care
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in veterinary practice
- Fully licensed Veterinarian in Alberta, registered in good standing with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
- Knowledge of the Calgary area and ability to drive safely in the city
- Experience working with dogs and cats of all types, sizes, and temperaments, including anxious, fearful, or aggressive animals
- Able to work independently with strong remote team support, stay on schedule, and manage time and priorities effectively
- Confidence in making diagnoses and carrying out treatment plans
- Passion for providing personalized and compassionate care
- Adaptable to different situations with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
