Mechanical Coordinator

Reporting to the Mechanical Lead, the Mechanical Coordinator will be responsible for providing turnaround support for 5 SAGD facilities and 1 rail loading facility.- Conduct work in a manner prescribed by Strathcona’s Environmental Health and Safety Work Practices.- Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and costs.- Champions Strathcona policies, values, regulatory compliance, and the operational integrity program.- Supervise, mentor and support tradespeople and contractors.- Ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance, supervisory staff and other key stakeholders.- Assist with identifying and coordinating facility turnarounds and developing outage timelines.- Manages all mechanical maintenance activities associated with turnarounds and projects as required.- Ensure a detailed task completion schedule is created for all items within scope.- Provide regular progress updates of project execution and maintenance execution as required.- Ensure that the Asset Integrity inspection timelines are adhered to, and all pressure and process equipment maintenance complies with current engineering standards and TSASK Legislation.- Ensure all documentation and records are received and maintained in the appropriate location.- Creation and closeout of assigned work orders within Maximo.- Planning & Scheduling - Works closely with planners and schedulers to ensure appropriate personnel requirements, materials, tools and equipment are available.- Ensure the detailed plans, job scopes, resources, materials and equipment are available for the projects or jobs assigned.- Responds effectively to enquiries from operations, engineering, or other teams.- Participate in the PSSR for turnaround and other work scopes as required.- Supervisor for large jobs involving multiple disciplines, multiple contractors, completing JHA’s and reviewing with all parties, being single point contact for vendors, operations, and safety.- Ensures that all time tickets for vendors are accurate, coded, and signed.
Qualifications Include:
- Journeyperson mechanical trade I.e. Millwright, Pipefitter, Welder etc.- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of previous operations/industrial maintenance experience or equivalent mix of formal education and experience.- Demonstrated ability to multitask, adapt, and be flexible to fast changing demands, timelines, and deliverables.- Team player who is willing to continually and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information in a team-oriented environment.- Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to maintenance staff and contractors as required.- Provide leadership with implementing change to achieve continuous improvements.- Familiarity with electronic maintenance management programs Maximo, SAP, JD Edwards- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Outlook and Excel for communication and reporting- Strong organizational and communications skills, verbal written and electronic.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, multi trade focused environment.- Normal work schedules are 8-hour days, 5 days on shift and 2 days off.- Rotational “On call” and overtime as required.- Based out of the Lloydminster Strathcona office with frequent field visits required.
