Reporting to the Manager, Academic Practice, Health Disciplines, the Allied Health Education Specialist’s key responsibilities are to assess, plan, design and deliver high quality education, trainings and onboarding programs for Health Disciplines Staff and/or other members of the Health care team to support evidence-based practice, safe and quality patient care.

The Allied Health Education Specialist facilitates the adult learning process by utilizing evidence-based education strategies that encourage self-direction, promote empowerment, and foster professional growth and a collaborative learning environment. As an integral member of the Professional Practice and Education team, the Allied Health Education Specialist works collaboratively with Bridgepoint Leadership team, Academic office, Clinical/ Professional Practice Leaders, Nursing Education and Practice team, to deliver professional practice/ education priorities and advance learning in alignment with Academic Practice Strategy and Corporate initiatives.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a university degree in a Rehabilitation Health Sciences field from an accredited education institution; Master’s degree is required
- Current unrestricted registration with an applicable Regulatory College (where applicable)
- A minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience with Clinical Education and/or Clinical Practice in a rehabilitation setting; Status-only appointment with the University of Toronto preferred (where applicable)
- Experience and participate in research initiatives in health on a local, national or international basis
- Demonstrate strong knowledge in the principles of adult learning, presentation and facilitation skills; experience in curriculum development and mentorship preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Effectively work with multiple discipline groups and model practice expectations.
- Demonstrate good clinical knowledge in the principles of Lift and transfer/ proper body mechanics, FIM, MDS, Workload measurement & RM &R,
- Experience in leading and/or participating in quality improvement projects
