**Hood Packaging** is a manufacturer of a quality packaging materials who operates across Canada and the United States with its 23 production sites.

We have grown through innovation and strategic acquisitions. Initially operating in the cotton business, we expanded our flexible packaging skills to paper, plastic and woven substrates.

Our **Montreal division** specializes in the production and printing of plastic film with specifications that can serve the food industry as well as all other industries looking for quality flexible packaging.

We are currently looking for people to join our family-owned manufacturing business

If you are enthusiastic about making a real difference by being part of a winning team like ours, we currently have a temporary HST Coordinator position to fill at our Saint-Léonard plant.
- Job Description:_

The HST Coordinator is responsible for the developement, implementation and management of safety, health and environmental training programs and initiatives.

The duties of a HST Coordinator are as follows:

- Develop, implement and maintain policies and programs to ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Lead and act as the Co-Chair on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Lead the continuous improvement processes for the the environmental, health and safety programs.
- Lead root cause investigations on all, health, safety and environmental related incidents and coordinate the corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate the overall performance of the environmental, health and safety and training programs.
- Coordinate the company hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and recycling programs.
- Coordinate external environmental, health and safety audits and coordinate corrective actions.
- Coordinate the Site Emergency Response and Fire Safety Plans.
- Understand and comply with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), SQF & safety policies & procedures.
- Coordinate and participate in monthly workplace inspections.
- Coordinate and communicate activities with the outside consulting groups when needed.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Coordinate major facility and equipment cleanings.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies.
- Develop and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Manage all Safety Related Training including regular Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and job specific training requirements.
- Manage all plant personnel job position qualification training to ensure adequate knowledge and experience in all levels within the plant LOPs.
- Work closely with the production supervisors to ensure forward thinking in the planning of plant employee training.
- Work closely with the assigned job trainers to understand the requirements of the position and to ensure successful transfer of knowledge to the trainee.
- Assign and provide necessary training to the assigned trainers (Train-the-Trainer) and ensure training premiums are administered.
- Ensure training documentation is accurate and updated - including qualification lists, guides, alerts, machine side operation & safety manuals.
