Environmental Design Youth Instructor

St Catharines, Canada Youth Fusion Full time

Your role will be to introduce elementary and/or high school students to the process of developing and promoting a predetermined program chosen by the school. You will lead and guide students through an experiential and pedagogical project **in the classroom**. In addition, each project will be associated with a mentor from the related industry. By the end of the project, the students will be expected to have acquired teamwork abilities, technical skills and knowledge pertaining to the program.

With your expertise in environmental design, youth will learn the different stages required to carry out a design project, from the ideation phase to the final presentation. They will conduct an environmental scan, design their project using 2D and 3D drawings, and create models and photomontages.

TERMS
- Part-time: Ranges from 8 or more hours per week, per class. Possibility of taking on more than one project;
- Salary: $20 per hour;
- Contract duration: September 2023 to June 2024, possibility of contract renewal;
- Schedule: Flexible and regular schedule based on availability of coordinator and school;
- Employment region: St. Catherines

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and facilitate lessons that are integrative, stimulating, and diverse;
- Work collaboratively with the Youth Fusion team;
- Maintain a professional and close relationship with the school personnel;
- Contribute to the project’s execution and success;
- Attend required meetings;
- Represent Youth Fusion and/or the project;
- Draft required reports;
- Prepare and participate in the end of the year event;
- Perform tasks in a virtual setting when required.

LANGUAGE
- Spoken and written French

ASSETS
- Experience working and interacting with youth;
- Project management experience;
- Ability to organize and facilitate activities;
- Ability to work safely with tools and equipment
- Desire to be a role model for the school’s students.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
- A vulnerable sector screening is required for this position.
