How you will make contributions that matter...
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations and budget of warehousing facilities;
- Plan, develop, and implement food safety programs, warehouse health and safety, and security programs and activities;
- Develop warehouse operations policies and procedures and communicate this information to employees;
- Develop and implement profit improvement plans and change management plans;
- Direct and control corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures within the warehouse operations department;
- Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the warehouse operations;
- Remain current with latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures;
- Plan, organize and direct warehousing related administrative services such as signage, cleaning, installations, maintenance, repair, safety inspections, parking, and snow removal;
- Perform day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork i.e., reviewing and approving timecards;
- Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence, reports, statistics related to the warehouse operations area of responsibility, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals;
- Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of warehouse personnel;
- Promote and influence team members regarding Saputo culture;
- Drive and deliver a positive change within the workplace;
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships;
- Problem solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges;
- Confer with department manager to coordinate warehouse activities, including distribution and purchasing;
- Review contracts, invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments;
- Coordinate with other departments in Saputo.

You are best suited for the role if you
- 7-10 years proven work experience as a warehouse manager with proven managerial experience (in a unionized environment will be considered an asset)
- Proven management work record of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Demonstrated measurable improvements in productivity, food safety, health and safety, quality and service
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- Knowledge of continuous improvement work practices and influential capacities
- Ability to adapt in a complex work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in pertinent field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
- Able to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets.
- Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset.
