Solterre is Atlantic Canada’s most experienced sustainable consulting firm, with more than eighty projects that have been LEED certified to-date.

Solterre works on a broad range of commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Our experience with green rating systems covers LEED (v1.0, v2009, v4/v4.1), Green Globes (v2, v3), Parksmart; Zero Carbon (R) and exposure to the Living Building Challenge® and WELL Building Standard®.

**Opportunity**:
We are seeking an emerging (entry level) professional to join our sustainable consulting team in Halifax, NS. As a sustainability project manager, you will be working closely with senior consultants on a variety of projects working towards green building certification. You will be responsible for supporting senior consultants, project teams, and clients throughout every stage of construction - from pre-design through final certification.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Support the delivery of sustainability and green building certification services;
- Assist with the facilitation of Integrative Design Process (IDP) meetings and project kick-offs;
- Provide technical support on sustainability concepts such as site related issues, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation controls, water use reduction, high efficiency building systems, renewables, waste management, material selection, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and daylighting;
- Review and document project submittals to ensure compliance with sustainability targets and rating system requirements;
- Work closely with design team members and contractors;
- Contribute to written reports conveying technical information and understanding of client’s sustainability goals and recommendations to meeting objectives;
- Submit projects for certification and compile any additional documentation requested during secondary review

**Required Qualifications/Experience**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma;
- Knowledge of green building practices and certification systems (LEED, Green Globes, etc.);
- Ability to work with a variety of teams and maintain/build professional relationships;
- Detailed and task oriented;
- Desire to continuously learn and improve technical/professional skills;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; can quickly adapt to shifting priorities;
- Organized, self-directed and motivated;
- Values sustainability; seeks to promote greener construction practices;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint;
- Proficiency with Revit
- Desirable:

- Have or plan to obtain professional accreditation or designation (_LEED Green Associate, LEED AP, Green Globes Emerging Professional, etc.) _
- Knowledge of construction practices and ability to read specifications and drawings.
- Lightstanza, Athena Impact Estimator, Life Cycle Assessment

**Working Conditions**:
Full time in office with occasional site visits (_approximately 90% in office, 10% travel_). Projects are located throughout Atlantic Canada. Possession of a Driver’s License is required.
