**HOURS OF WORK**:variable up to 36.25 hours per week

**PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT**:June to August 2025
**WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?**
You will:
- Be a representative of one of Morrisburg’s premium and internationally recognized tourism sites.
- Welcome guests to the Family Activity Centre at Upper Canada Village, orient them to the Centre, explain and animate the exhibits within the Centre and provide a variety of historical workshops and demonstrations using crafts, music, drama, games, tools and historical costumes.
- Assist with Camp Counsellor duties as required
- Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.
- Embody the SLPC’s equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.
**HOW DO I QUALIFY?**
You have:
- The ability to communicate well with guests and, in particular, children.
- The ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and to explain and demonstrate a wide range of historical activities such as crafts, music, games and tools.
- Knowledge of 19th century Ontario history.
- The ability to learn historical information, policies and procedures associated with the Family Activity Centre and Upper Canada Village.
- The ability to assist with other tasks associated with the Family Activity Centre such as obtaining supplies, cleaning and research related to visitor questions and new activity centres.
- The ability to wear a modern uniform.
- A valid emergency first aid certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, guest and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.
A vulnerable service sector check is required for this position.

**À QUOI PUIS-JE M’ATTENDRE À CE POSTE?**
Vous devrez:
- agir comme représentant ou représentante de l’un des principaux sites touristiques de Morrisburg, de réputation internationale;
- accueillir les visiteurs au Centre d’activités familiales au Village du Haut-Canada, les orienter, leur expliquer les expositions et en animer des activités, en plus d’offrir divers ateliers et démonstrations à caractère historique au moyen de bricolages, de musique, de théâtre, de jeux, d’outils et de costumes d’époque;
- faciliter le travail des animateurs et animatrices du camp;
- travailler de façon sécuritaire en tout temps et signaler immédiatement les situations dangereuses aux superviseurs;
- agir conformément aux principes d’équité, de diversité et d’inclusion de la CPSL lors des échanges avec le personnel et la clientèle.
**QUELLES SONT LES COMPÉTENCES RECHERCHÉES?**
Vous vous distinguez par:
la capacité de bien communiquer avec les enfants, plus particulièrement avec les enfants;
la capacité de travailler efficacement au sein d’une équipe;
la capacité manifeste de donner des ateliers, d’expliquer un éventail d’activités historiques et d’en faire la démonstration, par exemple au moyen de bricolages, de la musique, de jeux et d’outils;
une connaissance de l’histoire de l’Ontario du XIXe siècle;
la capacité d’apprendre des données sur l’histoire ainsi que les politiques et procédures régissant le Centre d’activités familiales et le Village du Haut-Canada;
la capacité d’aider à d’autres tâches liées au Centre d’activités, comme l’obtention de fournitures, le nettoyage et la recherche afin de répondre aux questions de visiteurs et d’offrir de nouvelles activités;
la capacité de porter un uniforme moderne;
un certificat valide de secourisme dans les situations d’urgence (ou la capacité d’en obtenir un);
- la capacité d’apprendre tous les protocoles et procédures de sécurité afin d’assurer la sécurité du personnel, des visiteurs et de collègues en tout temps.
