**Salary/Wage**: starting at $15.50/hr
**Hours of Work**:9am - 5pm weekend work as required, and evening (11am-7pm) when greenhouse opens

**The position**:We are looking for a highly motivated and hard-working individual to work in our retail store at 7724 Roblin Blvd. Our retail staff work inside our garden centre and greenhouses. Working in our retail store, the successful applicant will have excellent customer service skills, be a team-player, and willingness to learn. Greenhouse work involves the care and merchandising of perennials, shrubs, and trees in the nursery, and assisting in the care and merchandising of flowers and vegetables in the greenhouse.

**Responsibilities can include**:
**Retail**:

- Help customers locate products when they enter the store
- Ensure displays of seeds, accessories, and other supplies are well stocked and organized
- Work checkout and help customers bring their purchases to their car, as needed
- Basic phone and computer functions / look up orders, customer accounts, answer phone inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store watering and treating tropical plants, sweeping/dusting, ensure no safety hazards for customers
- Work collaboratively with the team on displays and social media posts (Instagram/Facebook stories) to promote products, sales, and events

**Greenhouse**:

- Daily walk through of greenhouses/nursery to maintain cleanliness
- Help inspect all water pumps, lines, irrigation equipment, tank operation, fan operation
- Maintain organization of equipment, tools, and parts
- Perform minor repairs, working alone or with other team members when necessary

**Merchandising and Inventory Management**
- Ensure that all products, including flowers and vegetable products are available for sale and appealing to our customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Several times per day, retail inventory levels must be replenished and monitored in a timely manner
- Constant monitoring and updating labels for all pots, and products to ensure accuracy and correctness of all prices

**Nursery work**
- Merchandising of our perennial, tree and shrub displays
- Must be eager to learn and become knowledgeable about our products, perennials, trees, and shrubs
- Help to maintain the nursery
- Lay down the leftover stock at the end of the season
- Plant and maintain the planters and front beds

**Requirements**:

- Available to work extended periods on your feet, often in hot and humid weather conditions
- Available to work during regular store hours including flexibility to work weekends as required
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience in landscaping and/or greenhouse an asset
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal direction, and as a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Basic computer skills
- Horticulture background/knowledge is an asset
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Must love dogs (We are a dog-friendly business)

**Note**:T&T Seeds is located at 7724 Roblin Blvd, Headingley. Successful applicants must have access to transportation as it is not accessible by city transit.

Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Day range:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
