Under general supervision works according to detailed procedures in cleaning and custodial duties, and may assist in other maintenance duties.

**General Description**

In the Facilities Management Department, we take pride in our buildings and grounds and provide a welcoming, service-orientated, clean and safe environment for our students, faculty and staff. Under general supervision, performs labour maintenance functions on grounds.

**Typical Duties**:
The following illustrative tasks indicate the level of skill required, and the extent of responsibility involved in this position. They in no way limit the incumbent to the tasks indicated. Flexibility of the employee to perform a wide variety of functions is necessary in successfully fulfilling the requirements of this position. The degree to which each employee performs each of the following tasks listed below will vary according to where and when the employee is scheduled to work.
- Trims, cuts and waters grass; maintains all soft landscaping. This includes activities such as watering, weeding, cultivating, fertilizing, pruning, etc.;
- Rakes leaves, lays sod;
- Prepares ground for planting; plants flowers, shrubs and trees;
- Works on campus cleaning details;
- Removes graffiti and posters from campus property;
- Works on snow and ice removal;
- Other related duties as required.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Education**:Completion of grade 12 or equivalent.

**Experience**:One year of related work experience is preferred.

**Other**:Physical ability to perform laborious outdoor work, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written), works under all weather conditions. Must possess a valid provincial class "G" driver's license. - There are 4 vacancies for this position and the hours differ for each.
- The hourly rate for this role is $16.55/hr.
