JOB SUMMARY
CLI College is currently seeking a motivated individual with classroom teaching experience and field expertise to fulfill the role of Developmental Service Worker (DSW) Instructor. As a DSW Instructor, you will empower students with the necessary skills to thrive as Developmental Service Workers in group homes, residential care facilities, or within the school board.
The Developmental Service Worker Instructor will be responsible for preparing teaching materials and to deliver lectures on theory, techniques, and terminology.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum requirements for Developmental Service Worker (DSW)Program
- Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, presentations, and practical demonstrations to students
- Provide guidance and instruction on the principles, techniques, and best practices of working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, exams, and practical evaluations, and provide timely feedback to support their progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards and supports policies and procedures
- Stay informed about changes and innovations in your field
- Monitoring and reviewing students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires
- Participating in College and Program Activities
- Provide timely feedback to students regarding academic progress
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Science degree or similar.
- Degree or Diploma in Developmental Disabilities or Developmental Services Worker
- Minimum three (3) years of practical experience in the Canadian healthcare field
- Practical experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Practical experience working with Developmental Support Workers
- 3 year or more of teaching experience is an asset
- Experience with Google Classroom and Meet is an asset
