We are currently recruiting for a **Lead Estimator** who is ready to take on challenging projects, help develop a team and deliver outstanding results for our clients. You will work on projects and studies to gather and input relevant data to build capital estimates, while in parallel looking at ways to reduce capital costs and create value on our client’s projects.

**About the role**
- Ensure accuracy of estimates by collecting and entering appropriate data.
- Develop comprehensive estimate plans, basis of estimates, and estimates for projects by adeptly managing estimate models, conducting thorough reviews.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering disciplines and Project Management to gather essential scope and quantity data for precise estimates across all specialty discipline area.
- Coordinate with Procurement team for all request for budgetary quotations.
- Organize estimates efficiently using a structured work breakdown and discipline approach, including wage and unit rate calculations, quantity and scope verification, productivity factor assessment, and comprehensive field and office cost preparation.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate estimate unit rates within designated disciplines, covering labor, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct simulations or other required methods to establish project contingency, escalation, risk and all other reserves.
- Effectively manage changes impacting estimates by maintaining continual communication with Management, Project Managers, and the Engineering Department to incorporate necessary adjustments.
- Foster strong relationships with external suppliers and contractors through proactive and effective communication strategies, ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Support with the training, mentorship and development of staff.

**About you**

10+ years experience in a similar role with an engineering consulting firm and/or construction company preferably in the minerals and metal sector. The emphasis for this role is support of PEA/PFS/FS projects but experience in an EPC/EPCM context will also be an asset.

A degree or diploma in engineering, applied science/ related field or extensive experience (site experience or trade background would also be an advantage but not essential).

Sound numerical, conceptual and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal skills and experience working on a project team.

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power point) required

Previous experience with industrial estimating software preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable interfacing with clients and all levels of management.
