Health and Safety Coordinator- Canadian Residents

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for promotion, planning, implementing, and overseeing safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Review health and safety rules, policies and procedures in accordance with site, company, COR and government regulations and legislation.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that health and safety requirements are followed, and the company remains compliant.
- Ensure that new and current team members are up to date in training (e.g., new & young workers, CSTS 09, First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry)
- Assist to manage non-compliance violations.
- Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs.
- Conduct health and safety audits, risk/hazard assessments, reviews and inspections.
- Maintain, and report on, project and individual health and safety records and statistics.
- Monitor and maintain third party service providers (ISNet)
- Monitor and implement safe work procedures for machine or equipment changes, ensuring that health and safety precautions are being acknowledged.
- Identify potentially hazardous situations and support Supervision to correct them.
- Work with JOSH to design programs and strategies that protect employees from workplace hazards.
- Periodically, act as a team leader for task forces and teams (e.g., leading a number of supervisors on an audit/inspection)
- Review internal and external health and safety reports to determine areas that need improvement; implement measures to minimize occurrence of incidents.
- In the event of emergency (e.g., fire, significant first aid), help direct rescue and/or any medical assistance as determined by the First Aid attendant.
- Assist in Toolbox/Safety Meetings and promote the company culture regarding transparency and collaborative efforts. Defining the company’s commitment to worker safety
- Cultivate strong working relationships with team members to ensure understanding and participation.
- Assist with the tender process as it relates to safety.
- Other items as required.

**Qualifications, Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registrations**:
- Relevant degree, diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields
- A minimum of two years recent, related experience EHS experience
- Valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing a must

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
