**Division Overview**

This position sits within the Strategic Partnerships Division, which leads engagement with partners across the health system and the broader cancer community who are working to develop and implement practice and policy changes that deliver on the priorities of the 2019-2029 Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. We work across the organization and alongside system partners to develop work plans, monitor progress, and regularly assess new and evolving work to ensure it aligns with the eight priorities of the Strategy. We also work alongside First Nations, Inuit and Métis governments and organizations to drive forward the Strategy's three People-specific priorities and actions of the Strategy.

**Overview of Role**

The Program Manager - Funded Initiatives (First Nations, Inuit and Métis Cancer Strategy) supports the Strategic Partnerships Division in carrying out the important work of the Strategy with partners. Reporting to the Manager, First Nations, Inuit and Métis Engagement and Integration, the role liaises with and provides support to both partner-driven and internal projects. This role requires a broad skill set, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple partners; a high capacity for engagement and collaboration including the ability to galvanize multiple stakeholders; strong time management skills and the capacity to prioritize workload; and the ability to connect multiple worldviews.

**Core Responsibilities & Activities**

Program Management
- Advances the Partnership’s Commitment to Reconciliation.
- Provides direct and reciprocal relationship support to both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous funded partners within an assigned jurisdiction to collaboratively advance shared priorities that align with the priorities of the Partnership’s strategy.
- Monitors partners’ progress against workplans, funding agreements, and commitments for the Partnership’s outcomes. This includes assessing the status of work and co-creating resolutions to challenges.
- Maintains regular communication with team leadership, ensuring sharing of project content, status, updates, and findings.
- Works closely with peers to support shared experiences in driving action with partners toward the achievement of strategic priorities and other deliverables.
- Collaborates with the Financial Planning and Administration team to share information in a timely manner to address financial matters related to funded initiatives in a respectful and timely way.
- Provides expertise to internal business units across the Partnership to ensure representation of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples’ specific priorities have a voice within broader initiatives within the organization. Identifies opportunities for linkages between First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partner priorities and new work.
- Contributes to organization-wide initiatives to foster integration, high performance, program effectiveness, and impact toward the achievement of outcomes and goals.
- Develops trusted relationships with key decision-makers across all teams in the organization (e.g. management, regional supports, etc).
- Actively identifies, assesses, and communicates provincial/territorial, national, and international trends and advancements in cancer control, and determines implications for the Partnership, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners.
- Identifies areas of intersection and/or synergies between the Partnership and key external partners, and drives the strategic action needed to integrate these into the Partnership’s work.
- Assists the Director, and division teams, as required.
- Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as required.

**Competencies**

**Experience and Qualifications**
- University Undergraduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Policy, or other relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and lived experience.
