Toronto, Canada Governance Professionals of Canada Full time

The Thought Leadership Manager is responsible for tracking leading governance trends for GPC which include:

- Continuously monitor and research governance trends, emerging practices, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Identify opportunities and challenges relevant to the organization and proactively recommend necessary adaptations.
- Consult with members and practitioners in governance across industries and sectors on their top governance preoccupations.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as board members, executives, legal advisors, auditors, and regulators & build relationships, seek input, and facilitate open dialogues.
- Support the Advocacy and Thought Leadership Committee in identifying and determining key priorities for the organization to track.
- Compile data and prepare reports on key trends/challenges affecting the governance professional.
- Provide guidance and collaborate on identifying key education opportunities for the GPC professional development programming.
- Oversee and run the GPC annual Excellence in Governance Awards program (including running nominations, judging process, support and engaging with nominees and judges).

- Can express complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner through various mediums such as writing, public speaking, and presentations.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess information, evaluate risks, and make informed judgments. Can approach problems from multiple perspectives and demonstrate sound reasoning.
- Proven track record of ethical decision-making and who prioritize transparency, accountability, and fairness in their work. Should be trusted and respected by their peers and have a strong moral compass.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and networks.
- Demonstrate curiosity, seek out new knowledge, and stay updated with the latest trends, research, and best practices in governance.

YOU ARE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU:

- Have a post-secondary degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience in conducting research, writing and developing papers/content on key issues.
- Have a sound understanding of best practices in governance.
- Are exceptionally organized, detailed, and accurate.
- Have meticulous research and writing skills.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- Comfortable with social media platforms, communication tools, Zoom and other meeting platforms, Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel if required.
- Bilingual (French) would be an asset.
- GPC.D designation an asset

**Location: Toronto - Full-time - Office and remote working**
