**PURCHASING & SOURCING COORDINATOR** is a functional role tasked with developing productive relationships with suppliers to foster mutually beneficial partnerships, enhancing Edison’s competitive positioning. This role encompasses total responsibility for Purchasing & Sourcing Management, maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring accuracy.

This is a full-time position based at our office in Newmarket, ON.

**The following are the essential functions of this position**:

- Oversee the entire supply chain process, ensuring timely supply of materials and products.
- Issue Purchase orders and follow-up regularly with vendors to ensure product is received on a timely basis and record and update stock levels in ERP system.
- Work with the Production & Operations to ensure all project needs are identified and orders placed in ample time to receive the materials when required for manufacturing
- Responsible for coordination of vendor’s production drawings
- Maintain all technical data related to each product
- Source product required for special projects
- Communicate with and monitor freight forwarders for shipping
- Monitor production schedules, supplier performance, and delivery timelines to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions
- Foster positive, long-term relationships with key suppliers through regular communication, collaboration, and partnership development.

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, service, and reliability. Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, quality control and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
- Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality
- Address issues related to quality, delivery, and compliance to ensure they meet agreed standards.
- Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.
- Flexibility for Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Administration, Supply Chain Management or other related field;
- Require 3-5 years of proven experience in purchasing and sourcing roles from lighting manufacturer, lighting agency or electrical distributor
- Relevant experience in manufacturing;
- Experience with an ERP / MRP system;
- Reliable, autonomous and excellent time management skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Versatile with a great sense of responsibility;
- Organized and attentive to details;
- Demonstrates judgment and proactive approach to problem solving;
- Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills;

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
