**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Research and implement hedging strategies to minimize price risk;
- Prepare valuations and mark-to-market calculations along with hedge accounting documentation and tests for derivative instruments used in managing price risks;
- Monitor balance sheet and transaction exposure to fluctuations in foreign exchange by conducting detailed exposure analysis and ongoing review of hedging strategies;
- Maintain accurate schedules and working papers of principal, interest, deferred financing charges, and embedded derivatives for corporate debt instruments;
- Prepare treasury analytics, including weighted average cost of capital, effective interest rate calculations, bank fees analysis, AR roll-forwards, lease vs. buy comparisons, and interest rate swap comparisons;
- Forecasting and budgeting of cash requirements, leverage, covenant ratios, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank loans, long term debt, and interest expense;
- Execute competitive spot, forward, and option purchases with major financial institutions and coordinate accurate and timely settlements upon expiry;
- Monitor compliance with debt covenants and conduct sensitivity analysis to proactively identify potential financial covenant constraints;
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for submission to lenders in accordance with various reporting requirements within all major corporate debt agreements;
- Compile financial data and prepare regular reports on treasury related transactions and/or risks for various stakeholders, including executive and senior leadership teams;
- Research financial and commodity markets and provide insight and commentary to the business;
- Prepare accounting entries, monthly reconciliations, workbooks and analysis of treasury general ledger accounts;
- Review accuracy of financial statements and assist with the preparation of notes to the financial statements for items which relate to trade receivables, trade payables, bank loans, long-term debt, financial instruments, capital management, and financial risk management objectives and policies;
- Manage the process for letters of credit, including opening and amending letters of credit, creating templates, compiling paperwork, investigate discrepancies, and maintaining effective communication with buyers and banks to attain resolutions;
- Manage the process for documentary collections, including coordinating all document presentations, compiling paperwork, and ensuring all amounts reconcile to the purchase order;
- Assist with internal audits and external financial statement audits and oversee bank audits;
**Qualifications**:
- University degree in Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Professional designation in Accounting or Finance an asset
- Minimum of two years of experience in finance/treasury field
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities as required
- Imagination to identify potential areas or processes for improvement and initiative suggest and implement improvements
