We have a need for additional personnel at the Research & Development Centre in Kingston in the Analytical Sciences Group.

- Work within a multi-disciplinary team focused on analysis of sample streams from R&D or manufacturing programs
- Lead and participate in the development of advanced analytical methods for molecular and physical characterization of widely ranging sample types.
- Interface regularly with project teams to share and discuss analytical results, understand changing needs of project, communicate timing of workflow through analytical.
- Participate and/or lead initiatives for the improvement of the analytical facilities.
- Document results and methods in various formats and present results.
- Train and/or mentor other team members in specific analytical methods for a given project.
- Work in a business-driven environment that is continuously improving and evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers.

**Skill **Requirements**:

- Demonstrated ability to work in alignment to DuPont Core Values.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on analytical, materials, and organic disciplines.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in an industrial setting
- Expertise in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting both LC-MS and GC-MS systems.
- Experience with analytical method development and qualification with a variety of vendor systems including Waters UPLC-MS, Agilent LC-MS, Agilent GC-MSD, Thermo Phenom, TA Instruments Cirrus MS.
- Competent in the use of mass spectral data analysis software and techniques such as MassLynx, TargetLynx, MassHunter, MzMine, SIRIUS, MaxQuant, and NIST database searching.
- A solid background in wet chemical sample preparation techniques including derivatization.
- An understanding of classical analytical techniques including titrations, spectrophotometry, dissolution, etc.
- Significant experience in utilizing multi-analytical techniques (including NMR) to identity and quantify unknown organic compounds. Some preparative chromatography skills may be required.
- Demonstrated understanding and use of calibration and external standard response techniques for quantitative data analysis including qualification through detailed statistical analysis.
- General familiarity with organic and polymer chemistry mechanisms as it relates to the analytical analysis of materials.
- Strong organizational, communication (oral & written), teaming and collaborative skills.
- Able to take initiative and exercise judgment in planning and executing work assignments.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software packages such as SASS or the ability to code with R and Python.
- Certified member of Joint Health and Safety Committee Member.
- Familiarity with thermal (e.g, TGA, DSC), mechanical (e.g., Instron), and imaging (e.g., optical microscopy, SEM) analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with some version of a LIMS for databasing results and information.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- 5+ years of relevant industrial laboratory experience in an analytical laboratory.
