**Manager, Energy and Sustainability, Facility Services**:
**Required Position**:
Full-Time Appointment

**Responsibilities**:
The Facility Services department is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance, operations and development of the campus facilities and grounds including the management of campus utilities. Laurentian University is also committed to continuous environmental and sustainable improvements in its operations to become carbon neutral in years to come.
- Develop/Manage a sustainability program designed to achieve savings while contributing to environmental protection;
- Foster energy efficient practices and behaviors throughout the organization to make Laurentian University a leader in sustainability;
- Leading new and innovative ways to demonstrate our sustainability leadership, focusing on resolving issues throughout the campus related to energy and sustainability;
- Manage energy reporting, auditing and procurement of utilities and related services, sustainability-related audits, preparation of business cases for identified energy projects and long-term sustainability strategies, and mandatory and voluntary reporting (e.g. to Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Colleges and Universities, the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and others);
- Oversee development and operation of real-time metering monitoring, verification and tracking via institutions’ building automation systems;
- Monitor the institution’s utility and energy usage and budgets to provide direction on consumption and sustainability strategies along with identifying key investments and cost efficiencies;
- Participation in the Ontario Associate of Physical Plant and Administrators (OAPPA) Energy committee, Ontario Colleges and Universities Sustainability Professionals (OCUSP) and Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (ASSHE) and others;
- Manage special projects directly related to energy efficiency and sustainability collectively with the Manager of Planning and Projects;
- Supervise the department’s office administrative team;
- Administer and coordinate business operations projects for the department with a focus on streamlining and improving workflow processes;
- Create, maintain and work with office databases for tracking and improving business processes including the work order management system, internal time tracking system and establish quality-control systems for department services;

- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum post-secondary education in a similar field;
- Minimum of 5 years administrative experience in Facilities Management is preferred;
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role is preferred;
- Experience in implementing sustainability programs, or programs in a related field such as planning, environmental or resource management, facilities, engineering or architecture;
- Strong technical background in building systems, including HVAC, building automation systems, lighting motors, etc;
- Outstanding interpersonal, communications, collaboration, problem solving and team building skills;
