Toronto, Canada Coco Paving Inc. Full time

Coco Paving Inc., a leader in the heavy road construction business in Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada, requires an **Environmental Planner** at our head office in North York (Keele St. & Wilson Ave.) to provide assistance to our Director of Land Development and Government Relations.

Coco Paving is a division of the Coco Group, a vertically integrated heavy civil infrastructure and development company with over 50 years of expertise.

Coco specializes in a wide range of heavy civil construction services and material products. In addition to the heavy civil construction company, Coco Group owns and operates a precast manufacturing facility (Co-Pipe Products), asphalt cement terminal (Coco Asphalt Engineering), portable concrete batch plants, a number of pits, quarries and asphalt plants.

Since 1964, Coco Paving is proud to continue as a family owned and operated entity, successfully executing its vision, through on time and on budget execution and completion of its projects to the satisfaction of our customers.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

**What’s involved?**

You will assist the Director of Land Development and Government Relations to ensure the ongoing compliance of our Environmental Certificates of Approval.

Duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:

- Assisting with the preparation of any scheduled environmental site inspections
- Ensuring Hazardous Waste Information Network (HWIN) compliance
- Calculating Financial Assurance for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change when required
- Assisting with liaison meetings with affected stakeholders including government Ministries, Municipal stakeholders, the general public and from time - to - time, politicians.
- Record keeping and filing for all approvals

**What’s required?**
- Post secondary degree or diploma in a related Environmental Planning or Environmental Science program
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and/or land use planning act
- Experienced in preparing and processing Environmental Certificates of Approval (ECAs)
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel
- Strong written communication skills
- Effective analytical and research skills
- Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work well independently and within a team environment
- Must be well organized, able to prioritize issues and multi-task
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic
- Valid Class G driver’s license is an asset
