**Your Opportunity**

We are looking for an **Environmental Planner **with at least **5 years** of consulting experience. You will be a member of Dillon’s national Environmental Planning team and will work closely with our in-house teams of engagement specialists, biologists, environmental scientists, land use and policy planners, and the full range of engineering disciplines located in offices across Canada. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our diverse range of private and public sector clients.

**Responsibilities**:
**As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to**:
**Project Delivery**
- Lead and support projects for private and public sector clients related to impact assessment, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects

**Business Development**
- Build client relationships through the identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activities

**Training & Corporate Initiatives**
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

**Learning & Development**
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Contribute to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring

Qualifications:

- A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, environmental science, biology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in the consulting industry

**Experience**:
**Ideally, your experience can demonstrate the following**:

- Successful project delivery as a Project Manager
- Thorough understanding of impact assessment methods and practical experience conducting environmental assessments, including cumulative effects assessments, for provincially (e.g., Ontario Energy Board [OEB], Alberta Energy Regulator [AER]) and federally-regulated projects (e.g., Canada Energy Regulator [CER], Impact Assessment Agency of Canada)
- In-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements
- Experience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous community engagement programs
- Environmental management during construction, including developing environmental management and mitigation plans, on-site monitoring and documentation
- Experience in business development activities including client development and responding to RFPs
- Experience with socio-economic, health, and GBA+ impact assessments is considered an asset
