**Job Description**:

- PURPOSE & SCOPE:
The Gauge Technician is responsible for the calibration, preventative maintenance and repair of production and quality assurance measuring equipment and gauges. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required.

- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform calibration and maintenance/repair for gauges and other inspection equipment to TS IATF16949 standards including day-to-day operations in support of production and continuous improvement of systems-
- Arrange GR&R studies, ongoing gauge maintenance and special investigations-
- Monitor backup gauge availability vs. gauge management plans and wear behavior. Raise issues to ensure that adequate backup is maintained-
- Prepare and build-up gauges for production-
- Maintain clear, correct and easily accessible records of all calibration activities-
- Communicate with all appropriate personnel as to the gauging systems activities-
- Basic CMM troubleshooting-
- Calibration of CMM’s-
- Participate in APQP process-
- Ensure compliance with QMS-
- Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.-

- QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Education and/or Experience_
- :_- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field 2+ years’ experience in a similar role with relevant technical experience- Qualifications:_- Knowledge in metrology, measurement system analysis, GD&T, the principles of statistics and other quality system disciplines-
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills-
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in the automotive industry-
- Good mathematical and analytical skills-
- Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment-
- Capable of taking initiative/ownership for areas of responsibility and demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision-
- Accurate, thorough, organized and detail-oriented- Language Skills:_- Proficient in English (both spoken and written)- Work Environment (including Physical Demands):_- Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures (i.e extreme heat)-
- Ability to lift a maximum of 30lbs-
- Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental-
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time-
