**JOB PROFILE**

**Draftsperson**

**General Description**

Responsible for the design and drafting of visual plans/guidelines for the project. They provide drawings which include technical details and specify dimensions. Ensures all elements of the design process are executed smoothly.

**Responsibilities and Expectations**
- Interact, consult, managers as well as shop colleagues such as fabricators, installers,
- Consult and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
- Learn about new construction technology.
- Draft design and specific changes as needed.
- Communicate any substantial plan changes to the purchasing/estimating department.
- Create designs from verbal or written instructions.
- Ensure that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.
- Interpret general designs prepared by others and complete details.
- Conduct follow-up where necessary.
- Exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on a knowledge of the design intent.
- Undertake other duties as required.

**Required Skills & Competencies**
- Minimum 2 - 3 years in a similar position
- Fluent in Drafting/Design software: AutoCAD is required.
- Basic working knowledge of Architectural, Engineering & Construction concepts
- Basic skills in in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and/or similar software
- Strong work management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to adapt new construction technology, procedures or methods related to the industry/field.
- Strong work ethic with respect to being responsible, confident, and motivated to complete a project.
- Solid interpersonal skills as well as ability to understand and interpret client needs.
- Exceptional ability to visualize.
- Immaculate attention to detail
- Ability to create sketches by hand.
