**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**

This role reports to the Associate Dean of Arts and the Faculty Lead on the Museum Project.

**SUMMARY**

In this role, the Curator in Residence will collaborate and coordinate with local museum-like organizations as they pivot to maintain their relevance to local communities.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Liaising with partner museums and galleries, as well as forging relationships with additional arts and cultural organizations.
- Promoting and facilitating KPU’s new Museum Lab.
- Giving several guest lectures within the Faculty of Arts.
- Organizing and hosting of a series of events for the Faculty of Arts and KPU that may include the following: a one-day symposium; public talks; and/or curatorial demonstrations.
- Engaging with departments, and/or faculty, staff, and student groups in the Faculty of Arts and the broader KPU community.
- Meeting regularly with the Department of Anthropology, Associate Dean and/or Dean, Faculty of Arts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Technical experience and curatorial practice related to arts education, community engagement, and/or cultural heritage, preferably within a museum-like organization.
- Engages in contemporary conversations regarding the preservation and promotion of cultural heritages.
- Dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community.
- Experienced working with Indigenous communities, knowledges, and traditions.
- Lived experience and/or an educational background or degree in curatorial studies, visual arts, anthropology, Indigenous cultural heritage, and/or history.
- A record of participation in professional organizations, and/or community events.
- Willingness to organize, plan and promote events/gatherings.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with KPU community members with various backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
