**Role Responsibilities**:
Join our team as a senior leader in compliance, where you’ll play a key role in guiding a dynamic team of inspectors and investigators while driving impactful provincial initiatives
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, this position acts as an Environmental Protection Officer while providing direct leadership to a district compliance team of inspectors and investigators, coordinating annual operational plans, leading provincial compliance initiatives, and mentoring peers, ministry staff, and external stakeholders to ensure knowledge transfer.
Some responsibilities of this role include:
- Advising, educating and leading staff within the Compliance working unit with a focus on coaching and development.
- Leading various compliance program enhancement initiatives and projects on behalf of the District compliance team.
- Acting as the primary liaison, addressing stakeholder concerns, and resolving issues before escalation to the Compliance Manager.
- Assisting the Compliance Manager in updating the operational plan, coordinating inspection plans, and ensuring consistent use of tracking tables.
- Driving program improvement through audits and trend analysis.
- Participating in recruitment for the area.
- Developing briefing notes, Action Requests, and Information Requests to address stakeholder concerns related to compliance and enforcement activities.
- Assisting in development of regional and provincial Compliance Annual Reports.
- Conducting investigations, inspections, audits, sweeps and coordinating compliance activities within the District.
- Acting Compliance Manager in the manager’s absence.
- Assisting the Compliance Manager with setting priorities for day-to-day duties of EPO team using established triage and prioritization processes. Addresses appropriate cover-off concerns.
- Comprehensively reviewing inspection files and investigation packages for relevance and completeness.

**Requirements**:
- A two-year technical diploma in a related field such as Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, or Forestry.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Seven years related work experience in a supervisory, inspection, or investigations role, or equivalent as described below.
**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
- Previous experience working with the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act.
- Previous work experience as an Environmental Protection Officer, Inspector, or Investigator.
