**About us**:
**Job Summary**:
The Quality Assurance Administrator position has a dual role that supports the activities of the Quality Assurance Department in the areas of supplier Assembly Process Verification and Validation and Quality Control and Inspection of suppliers manufacturing activities.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
Primary Responsibilities - Assembly Process Verification and Validation.
- Witness the assembly process for mining hoists and RAS equipment working closely with sub-contractor assembly team in the shop; monitor and record any quality assurance deviations or discrepancies.
- Maintain the records of manufacturing status from quality assurance stand point
- Work with Engineering & QA groups in finding quick solutions for all quality issues identified during assembly.
- Work with suppliers to ensure quality standards and engineering requirements are met as defined in the Purchase Order or contract.
- Monitoring compliance of suppliers to quality requirements and follow up with supplier as required to complete submission requirements.
- Ensure supplier quality documentation is correctly identified and properly stored.
- Occasionally, visit suppliers to perform mechanical inspections of parts or equipment.
Secondary Responsibilities - Quality Control and Inspection Support.
- Review supplier quality documentation for completeness and accuracy to engineering drawings and purchasing requirements.
- Occasionally, review and compile Quality Assurance data packages for customers and internal records.
- Occasionally, perform verification and inspections of welded fabrications, finish machined parts, and forging components of various sizes.
- Witness suppliers’ inspections and testing activities including Non-destructive Examinations and painting.
- Generate inspection reports after inspections as required.
**Required Qualifications**:
- University diploma, Engineering EIT (engineer in training) or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering, or
- College level technical education or apprenticeship in manufacturing, steel fabrication processes or production and machining operations.
- Practical working knowledge of ASTM & CSA Material Standards, ASME Inspection Standards, ISO and European Standards, and CWB Welding Standards.
- Knowledge of NDT Inspection processes and methods, NDT standards and heat treatment processes for steel.
- Strong technical background focused on quality control and manufacturing methods of large steel fabrications, structural steel weldments, assembly processes and industrial coatings and painting.
- Strong technical knowledge in understanding the assembly drawings and identifying linked components into large Bill of Materials.
- Familiar with reading drawings and understanding their manufacturability.
- Knowledge in performing dimensional inspections of precision machined steel components to tight tolerances and able to use precision inspection instruments.
- Must have a strong command of the English language and strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage time on multiple simultaneous projects.
**Travel Requirements**:
- Occasional local travel to visit local suppliers and customer facilities as required during business hours. Uses own vehicle for local travel.
- Occasional travel to other supplier and customer locations, may be required to meet business needs.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License from the Province of residence and a good driving record.
