Currently, our Learning Governance, Oversight and Support Department currently has an opportunity for a Section Manager in Training within Plant Access and Safety Training section.

The Section Manager, Training (Plant Access and Safety Training) is responsible to:
- Plan and manage all onboarding training for the site. Working with vendors to ensure training delivery within the project milestones- Manage the delivery of training curriculum and programs for; General Employee Training, Supplemental Worker and Conventional Safety

This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package.

This position reports to our Chesley location with travel required to our Tiverton site.

What will you be responsible for?- Recommend standards and strategies to achieve required performance.- Support the Department Manager in the development of business planning, related to the management of training development and delivery and other special projects.-
- Implement and manage training improvement projects to ensure that results are consistent with resource commitments and address the needs and direction of Bruce Power management.- Evaluate the applicability, quality, and effectiveness of the training delivered by the section.- Identify and prioritize the requirements to develop new training or redevelop existing training for staff, based on the results of training evaluation and emerging needs. Use the Training Change Request (TCR) process.- Identify to site line Managers the requirements for Subject Matter Expert support.- Review and approve the output of the analysis, design and development of training.- Conduct and assess pilot deliveries of new/revised courses.- Ensure routine maintenance is conducted on courses owned by the section.- Oversee line delivered training.- Ensure line involvement in training.- Identify current and emerging training and related issues in the internal and external environment.- Produce, review and revise Training Division Procedures.- Create and manage Training Division performance reports.- Develop, maintain and implement training for the Trainer Training Program.- Evaluate the applicability, quality and effectiveness of the training delivered by the section.- Establish Technology Assisted Learning (Computer Based Training, Distance Education, etc.).- Manage the administration of the Training Information Management System (TIMS), supporting databases and reports.- Manage the scheduling and rostering of training.- Manage the Critical Knowledge Retention Program.- Conduct Business Support liaison with Records and Controlled Documents.- Own and manage records retention associated with Training.- Perform other duties as required.

Managerial Accountabilities:
- Support the Department and Division Managers by managing section in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements.- Foster teamwork and a stimulating work environment.- Ensure the duties of the Secretary and Training Representatives for Curriculum Review Committee associated with the section's training are carried out.- Coordinate the production of improvement plans which correct common operational and/or training problems that have been identified.- Maintain the confidentiality of commercially sensitive information.- Represent Bruce Power with external vendors

Education and Experience:
- This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of related University training.- 8 years of experience in a nuclear station, and ideally a minimum of four years of management experience.- Requires supervisory, leadership, project management, budget management, contract management, problem-solving, and influencing competence.
