**Description**:
The Project Manager, (PM) will be responsible for project management oversight at all stages of the project cycle, in line with best practices in the development assistance sector. As a key member of the project team, the Project Manager will be actively involved in project design, delivery, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and provide advice and technical expertise to project staff, partners, and other stakeholders. This includes capacity building and technical assistance to government, civil society, and community stakeholders. This position will be based in Gatineau, Canada, with regular travel to countries of intervention.

**Responsibilities**:
Based full time in our Gatineau, Quebec office, and under the direction of the Project Lead, the Project Manager will:

- Ensure the overall quality and management of all services offered by the project and ensuring that these services meet expectations and needs;
- Leading the preparation of all key project documents
- Reviewing and approving the project budget and financial reports;
- Planning and coordinating administrative, financial and logistics management services provided under the project.
- Regularly communicating with the Project Lead, field team, government authorities or their representatives, and other relevant project
- Developing and maintaining networks of key stakeholders (government, civil society, other donors, private sector);
- Planning and coordinating procurement services of goods and services, including the procurement of technical specialist services through local and international competitive
- Analyzing, planning, directing and assessing the administrative tasks to be carried out by technical specialists, including timely submission of deliverables, adherence to basic professional requirements and alignment with activity specifications;
- Supervising the management and quality of reporting and invoicing for services
- Ensuring the effective management of monitoring and evaluation function including project progress and results.
- Participating in the recruitment and selection of field team staffing.
- Coaching and supervising of project field teams.

**Skills, competencies, and abilities**:

- Experience and demonstrated results in mainstreaming gender in development projects.
- Knowledge and experience in the design, management, and implementation of development projects in one or more sectors of intervention such as women’s economic empowerment, women’s and girls’ rights, community mobilization, climate change, capacity building for advocacy and citizen participation.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the socio-economic and political situation in the countries of intervention (Francophone Africa) and gender-sensitive programming.
- Knowledge of results-based management and Global Affairs Canada policies.
- Skills developed in written and oral communication in French, and functional communication in English.
- Ability to work well with others and develop and maintain compatibility between project staff, subcontractors, consultants, and beneficiaries of assistance.
- Ability to travel as required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, economics, international development, project management, engineering or social sciences.
- Additional education or certification in project management, feminist studies, monitoring and evaluation, other related certifications
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated working experience in a **donor-funded international development aid project,** managing and implementing project programming, funding or project financial instruments.
- Demonstrated experience managing project teams with different cultural and technical backgrounds.
- **Fluency in English and French is required**; fluency in additional language(s) is a significant asset.
