Class 1 Driver

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire energetic, hard-working people to join our team for a month-long job in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Work has already started & we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. We are hiring a Class 3 Driver that lives in or around Liverpool, NS. to work in the area that have their own reliable transportation to get to the work site.
**Requirements**:
- Valid class 1 driver’s license.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate vehicle in a safe manner in all weather conditions.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
**Responsibilities**:
- Check equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work as required.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Maneuver tandem into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to supervisors or other operators.
- Ensure that any debris caused by loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
- Available to work Monday to Saturday (some Saturdays are required but not every week)
Rate of pay determined by experience.
