The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation responsible for the safe and efficient movement of marine traffic through the Canadian Seaway. The Corporation plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the waterway remains a safe and well-managed system to enable ships to transit between Montreal and Lake Erie, through bridges and 13 locks.

**ance team members serve an English-speaking and French-speaking clientele so the person chosen will preferably be bilingual.**

**Role**:

- The Financial Analyst is responsible to provide support and assist in the coordination of the Head Office and Regional Manageable Costs Budget Process, supports and analyze manageable costs, assist with the quarterly variance and forecasting process, prepares financial statements and perform ad hoc special financial analysis.**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare tools, data and documentation in support of the Manageable Costs Budget Process: spreadsheets, budget models, templates, instruction letters, timetables, and workbooks.
- Carry out financial impact analysis of business decisions (cost/benefit).
- Analyze the quarterly variance and forecast reports and data related to management costs and operational costs.
- Maintain the fixed asset database, SAP master data and investment income process and prepare various reconciliations.
- Assist with the month end closing process, including preparation of internal financial statements.

**Experience and knowledge**:

- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years relevant experience in the preparation of budgets, consolidation and analysis of variance reports and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation, including bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, closing year-end, and external auditor files.
- Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, standards and work practices with respect to performing duties.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

**Certifications**:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

**Salary range**:$84,961.50 to $94,458.00
