**About the BFCRC**:The Courage centre managed by the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre is a registered charity offering crisis intervention, housing, counselling, accompaniment, and support to those experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, as well as those that suffer from emotional and life difficulties.

**About Mount Allison University**:Tracing its roots to 1839, Mount Allison is a primarily undergraduate liberal arts and sciences university. Mount Allison’s beautiful and historic rich campus is nestled on the Tantramar marshes in the heart of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada.

**Job Description Overview**:Under the supervision of the Director the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre, and working collaboratively with BFCRC staff as needed, the Campus Sexual Violence Counsellor will serve as a staff member of the Beausejour Centre and will provide counselling and support services to students attending Mount Allison University as a member of the Mount Allison Sexualized Violence Services team. The Campus Sexual Violence Counsellor will have an office on campus at Mount Allison University in order to provide counselling and support services to the campus community.

**Qualifications**
- Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken) would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in the field of sexual and gender-based violence.
- Specific experience and professional training in trauma-informed practice.
- Experience working with racialized, marginalized, and/or underserved communities.
- Knowledge of sexual and gender-based violence and an understanding of intersectional approach to systemic oppression
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills
- Strong facilitation, coordination and time management skills
- Completion of the SVNB’s Counselling Survivors of Sexual Violence: Training for Therapists and Counsellors or comparable training
- Experience in an office environment and using office technology
- Possesses a current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide culturally appropriate individual counselling and group services to survivors of sexual and/or gender-based violence
- Provide quality client care consistent with best practices and trauma-informed evidence-based approaches.
- Provide appropriate referrals for members of the Mount Allison community who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence.
- Complete safety plans, danger assessments and other risk assessments.
- Work in collaboration with the Beausejour Family Crisis Centre (Courage Centre) to support the needs of Mount Allison community members who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence.
- Work in collaboration with other campus resources (The Wellness Centre, Residence Life, Meighen Centre, Campus Security) to support the needs of Mount Allison community members who have experienced sexual or gender-based violence.
- Be knowledgeable about campus services, accommodations, and programs and services and programs within the Mount Allison community.
- Be knowledgeable about external services and programs.
- Maintain complete clinical client records and collect accurate counselling statistics.
- Examine patterns, trends, and concerns of members of the Mount Allison community seeking support.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre inc.

**Salary and Conditions**:

- The salary is negotiable based on experience and education.
- Work week is Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm Full time (36.25 hours a week).
