Mount Allison is a highly respected small undergraduate institution. With 14 full and part-time faculty and technical staff, and approximately 130 students, the Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts offers a BFA and BA with majors and minors in studio art (courses in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, open media, and sculpture), with BA majors and minors in Art History, and a minor in Museum and Curatorial Studies. The Pierre Lassonde School is located in the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts, a purpose-built facility on the Mount Allison campus. The Owens Art Gallery is an important support to the School on campus, with a program of contemporary and historical exhibitions and visiting artists’ presentations.
