Accountabilities:

- Communication & Dysphagia assessment and management of geriatric patient population with acquired neurogenic conditions including dementia, primary progressive aphasia, parkinson's disease, concerns with cognitive functioning among others
- Support growth and innovation of the role and services aligned with the expansion of the Seniors Health Program at Osler
- Opportunities to facilitate learning regarding Speech-Language Pathology services for interdisciplinary team residents, fellows, and learners in the program
- Providing education, resources and referral to patients and families in a clear and accessible manner
- Completing assessments and relaying findings to patients, families and inter-professional teams in a timely manner to facilitate access and flow
- Participating as part of the Corporate SLP team, which includes attending meetings, education sessions and quality improvement initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of speech-language pathology services and other community resources, treatment centres, and organizations;
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of speech-language pathology tools, processes, equipment, and assistive technology;
- Commitment to professional development, interprofessional collaboration and research to support seniors in a fast growing and culturally diverse region
- Knowledge of funding agencies related to the speech-language pathology recommendations;
- This position will report to the Clinical Services Manager Seniors Health

**Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- Experience with providing care to geriatric patient population
- Recent experience in intensive care, acute general medicine, and stroke is an asset
- Experience with videofluoroscopic swallowing assessment is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize professional duties, manage multiple patients, and efficiently organize workload;
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with diverse patient groups, case managers, family members/caregivers/Substitute Decision Makers, health care professionals, community organizations and service providers;
- Effective listening, observation, and facilitation skills
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage time in a fast paced medical environment
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team including Geriatricians, Allied Health, Nursing, Program Coordinators, Leaders and Administrative Staff.
- Demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
- Computer Literacy.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
