**Position Overview**

A Constituency Assistant (CA) supports the MLA by serving as a primary point of contact for constituents, managing day-to-day office operations, and addressing community concerns. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure the MLA's office runs efficiently and remains connected to the local community.

**Key Responsibilities Constituent Services**
- Provide information, guidance, and support to constituents on provincial government programs, services, and processes.
- Advocate for and assist constituents in resolving issues with government agencies.

**Community Engagement**
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, community organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Represent the MLA at community events and meetings when required.
- Organize and support community outreach initiatives, such as town halls and public forums.

**Office Administration**
- Manage office operations, including correspondence, scheduling, and records management.
- Draft letters, reports, and other materials as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

**Research and Communication**
- Monitor local issues, news, and concerns relevant to the MLA’s constituency.
- Research and prepare briefing notes, reports, and background materials for the MLA.
- Draft and post social media content, newsletters, and other communications.

**Qualifications Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary education in communications, public administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in a similar role, customer service, or advocacy is preferred.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of BC provincial government systems and services is an asset.

**Working Conditions**
- Part-time position; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Based in the constituency office; travel within the constituency may be needed.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
