Night Bellhop

This position works an overnight shift, from 10:45 pm to 7:15 am.

This position is eligible for free on-site staff accommodation (as a taxable benefit) OR a $1.00 per hour shift premium for working overnight if staff housing is not required.

Scope
As the first and last impression for our guests, Night Bellhops are responsible for creating a positive guest experience through welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful service. The Night Bellhops will be working closely with the Night Auditors, Night Security, Night Cleaners and Night Engineers. The Night Bellhop is responsible for assisting with luggage, valet services, shuttle driving and room deliveries.

**Responsibilities**:

- Genuinely and positively interact with guests at every opportunity.
- Greet guests upon arrival and open doors.
- Provide directions for parking and control in-coming and out-going traffic.
- Valet park cars and retrieve cars as per request, with diligence and care.
- Ensure driveway, entrance, and back office are clean and clear of garbage, dirt, snow and ice.
- Ensure Valet tags for any departures are arranged accordingly.
- Ensure the list of the luggage pulls are arranged accordingly.
- Assist guests in arranging for transportation services.
- Store luggage for guests and correctly identify stored bags.
- Assist guests with transporting luggage or bring baggage up to guest rooms and retrieve them when requested.
- Deliver housekeeping items and packages to guest rooms or respective departments.
- Complete all Night Bellhop tasks to set up for next day teams.
- Provide assistance to overnight Security during any emergencies.
- Provide information regarding the Hotel, its layout, and services.
- Provide information on Banff, Banff National Park, and local activities and dining options.

Physical Demands
- Constant standing and walking
- Occasional sitting and driving cars
- Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kg
- Occasional pushing of luggage carts weighing up to 200 pounds / 90 kg
- Occasional lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds / 45 kg
- Frequently working outside in cold or hot weather for extended periods of time

**Qualifications**:

- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must have a valid driver's license equivalent to Alberta Class 5 and clean driver's abstract
- Must be available to work overnight. (23:00 - 07:00)
- Must be comfortable driving large trucks, luxury vehicles, and vehicles with standard transmission
- Previous guest services or bell desk experience preferred
- Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates a professional, friendly personality in person and over the phone
- Capable of managing multiple tasks at once while maintaining high quality work
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
