**KEY FUNCTION**:
Provide recommendations that are culturally safe and relevant for North Eastern Indigenous communities, organizations and groups, to support the implementation of the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) program.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program.

**DUTIES**:

- Lead engagement with stakeholders to identify gaps and develop recommendations for the implementation of the OSP program while giving consideration to Northeastern Indigenous communities.
- Acts as a primary point of contact to help prioritize and coordinate goals for the OSP program.
- Develop educational material and present complex concepts for stakeholder review (E.g., regional and provincial colleagues within the OSP network.)
- Represent the program in provincial community of practice and planning tables for Indigenous Leads.
- Participate in quarterly meetings with Ontario Health to review and provide status updates regarding Indigenous considerations within the OSP program.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and recommendations to the Indigenous OSP working group.
- Determine the need for analysis of gaps within the program, and document findings to inform regional and provincial colleagues, First Nation, Inuit, and Métis (FNIM), and community organizations.
- Work in collaboration with service delivery sites and assist in defining a pathway to outline how Indigenous clients are served within the OSP network.
- Develop and implement an evaluation framework for new strategies/adaptations within the OSP program.
- Provide recommendations for safe and culturally relevant intake methods for Indigenous clients.
- Work with the Indigenous Consultant to identify training/learning opportunities for OSP therapists.
- Identify appropriate tools to collate feedback from Indigenous clients to evaluate the program and inform implementation and improvement work.
- Measure the effectiveness of the OSP program with respect to access for Indigenous clients; prepare findings and recommendations for regional and provincial stakeholders, FNIM partners, and community organizations.
- Support the development of clinical guidelines from adaptations designed for therapists delivering therapy to ensure satisfactory care.
- Identify educational needs for OSP clinicians in the North East.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
- Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, from an accredited university, or equivalent.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of one (1) years’ experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations or groups.
- Experience working with FNIM language, culture, customs, and traditions is required.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders across the Northeast and work productively in multi-faceted environment (i.e. in-person, travel, and virtual).
- Demonstrated excellent communication, leadership, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FNIM governance structures and protocols, organizations, communities, and geographic territories within the Northeastern region.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement programs/initiatives.
- Demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of health and health equity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Ontario psychotherapy services, regulatory bodies, and ethical issues as they relate to FNIM patient populations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Indigenous Communities and external healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated ability and understanding to incorporate Indigenous cultural values and perspectives into program designs and implementation with and for Indigenous people.
