**Proposal Writer and Coordinator**
**Role Purpose**
Coordinates the bid team and the business to develop compelling winning propositions that comply with our customers’ requirement yet do not compromise our high standards of corporate integrity. Coordinates all bidding activities in accordance with Winning Business Best Practices from initial customer contact through to contract signature including bid plan and budget to enable submission of bid responses to requisite time, cost and quality standards.
Owns the proposal document and manages the timely creation of compelling proposal documentation facilitating inputs from various collaborators; such as Bid Managers, Account Managers, Customer Sales Executives, Solution Architects, Finance staff, and Service Managers.
**Key Accountabilities**
- **Proposal Development**:Manages the completion of proposal deliverables and authoring activities to achieve the milestones specified within the bid plan. Provides guidance, support and coaching to other authors, resolves problems and ensures that the deadlines defined by the Bid Manager are met. Escalates or resolves any issues that affect progress to the Bid Manager as soon as they become apparent
- **Content Creation and Review**:Ensures the creation of exceptional proposal responses, ensuring that all customer-facing documentation is clear, concise and polished. Monitors the development of the response to support the timely completion of quality review events to achieve scores of 4 or more when assessed against the Shipley best practice model or equivalent standard.
- **Coordinate the team**:Manages the bid team to ensure the proposition and underpinning solution is developed to comply with the customer’s requirements and is aligned to the overall win strategy.
- **Proposal Planning**:Understands the response requirement in terms of scale, complexity and structure and in turn produces the style guides, proposal templates and proposal responsibility matrix, including allocating and gaining commitment from named individuals to respond to specific sections/questions.
- **Proposal Resourcing**: Engages with all proposal contributors identified within the proposal responsibility matrix to set expectations in terms quality standards, proposal format, structure and production tools either dictated bu the customer or aligned to Fujitsu standards.
- **Communicate Required Standards**:Defines and communicates to document contributors the proposal format, structure and production tools either dictated by the customer or to Fujitsu standards.
- **Visuals**:Manages the visual design of the proposal and ensures that all proposal graphics are designed to a common format.
- **Proposal Production**:Assembles all information received to a consistent document.
- **Best Practice**:Lead the capturing and propagating of best practice, knowledge and cross company cooperation.
**Key Performance Indicators**
- Personal Win Rate of at least 1:3 (Value and Opportunities) measured over rolling 12 month period.
- Proposal document quality scoring 4 and above in the Shipley best practice model or equivalent standard.
**Required Qualifications**
- 5+ years of proposal writing or comparable experience
- 3+ years in IT services and consulting industry
- 3+ years in bid and proposal environment, specifically working on Canada government bid
- Familiarity with Bid and Proposal Management best practices (APMP and Shipley) a plus
- Capture or business development experience
- Bachelor degree or Equivalent
- French - fluent communicator a plus
- English - excellent written and communications skills (Native speaker). Ability to write new original proposal and sales content
- Basic understanding of project management best practices and working in matrixed environment. Well organized and detailed oriented.
