**Job Summary**
The Remittance Research Specialist II is part of the NRG Operations Group and is the primary contact for conducting payment research and issue resolution for retail residential, small business, commercial, and industrial electric, and gas customers. This position also provides support towards the processing of manual payments and entries/adjustments into customer accounts. This specialist is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with high priority customers who hold multiple accounts to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
**Essential Duties/Responsibilities**
- Provide remittance support for Direct Energy Canada.
- Performs all aspects of work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Prepare reports on weekly tasks & special projects to update management on key issues and/or accomplishments.
- Effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure that payment processing service level satisfies business strategy and customer expectations.
- Support manual processing, including data entry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years customer service and data entry related experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Knowledge of the utility and/or deregulated energy industry is a plus.
- Working knowledge of SAP CCS and FICO.
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
**Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to use good judgment to make recommendations and decisions.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities in a deadline driven environment.
- Strong demonstratable Excel and Word skills, PowerBI experience an asset.
