- This is a hybrid role located at dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security and Systems you will manage and maintain IT systems and architecture on dentalcorp’s environment.
- In this role, you will
- Oversee and maintain all aspects of our AWS systems, including installation, management, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
- Expertly manage our AWS resources, optimizing for performance and cost, and ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures in AWS to maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Design and implement automated processes for deployments in the AWS environment, utilizing DevOps principles and tools.
- Regularly conduct system audits to analyze and improve performance, security, and capacity in the AWS cloud.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to facilitate code deployment, version control, and other development support processes in AWS.
- Plan and execute system updates and upgrades in AWS, minimizing downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments within AWS.
- Prepare technical documentation and manuals relating to system configuration, operation, and AWS best practices.
- Provide training and support to staff on AWS system usage, when required.
- Design and implement ALB, NLB, Security Hub recommendation.
- Good understanding of Azure AD and Intune.
- Communicate IT plans and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- What we're looking for
- At least 2 to 3 years experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role in an AWS environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ALB, NLB, Security Hub, CloudWatch, VPC, and more.
- Solid understanding of network administration and system security measures within AWS.
- Knowledge of databases, system backup & recovery, and scalability in the AWS cloud.
- Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and version control (like Jenkins, Git, Docker, Ansible, or similar).
- Good understanding of scripting languages (Python, Bash, SQL).
- Strong problem-solving skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred:
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or any higher-level AWS certification is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with microservices, containerization, and serverless computing in AWS.
