Applications are invited for the position of Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Coordinator in the Student Services Division, located at the Welland Campus. This position is to cover a leave and approximate dates of the appointment are May 2024 through July 2025. The salary range is $66,909 to $83,635 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Rights & Responsibilities Office (SRRO) the Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Coordinator (SVPRC) is responsible for using a trauma informed and survivor centered approach to coordinate a comprehensive college response to students impacted by sexual and gender-based violence. The incumbent ensures a safe, supportive, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for students disclosing and/or reporting incidents related to sexual and gender-based violence. The incumbent also provides guidance on where to find appropriate resources and outlining options available (on-campus and off-campus). Under the leadership of the Associate Director, the SVPRC develops, implements, and sustains robust sexual violence awareness programming and initiatives at all Niagara College campuses, aimed at fostering a culture of zero tolerance toward sexual violence. This position requires high standards of sensitivity, confidentiality, documentation, and recordkeeping.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Research and develop college-wide sexual violence educational initiatives, training, and programming.
- In accordance with the College’s Sexual Violence policy, use a trauma informed approach to assist students impacted by sexual violence which includes providing emotional and practical support, and assisting with navigating on-campus and off-campus services/resources.
- Coordinate and deliver prevention education programming that aligns with the college’s Consent is Key campaign.
- Respond to the Sexual Violence taskforce recommendations.
- Assist in reviewing and updating the College’s Sexual Violence policy and other SRRO related policies and procedures.
- Maintain a confidential database, documentation, and files on incidents of sexual violence reported to the College.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to work on special projects related to the SRRO.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-Year degree in Women’s & Gender Studies, Criminal Justice, Education, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with sexual violence prevention and response including providing direct service and crisis intervention with respect to individuals impacted by sexual violence.
- Knowledge of and experience with due process, rights, and responsibilities applicable to student judicial work, trends related to student conduct and student at risk procedures within post-secondary environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the enhancement and promotion of diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
- Sound knowledge of legislation pertaining to the post-secondary educational environment, such as: Mental Health Act of Ontario, Bill 26 - Strengthening Post-Secondary Institutions and Students Act, Bill 132-Sexual Violence and
- Harassment Action Plan Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Criminal Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Acts.
- Knowledge of the Canadian judicial system (e.g. conditions, orders, police, courts, victim services, SASV centres) to navigate services is an asset
- Sound knowledge of case management including an understanding of student conduct review processes.
- Excellent oral, written, analytical and problem-solving skills.
