**SUMMARY**

Reporting directly to the General Manager(GM), the Operations Plan Manager is responsible for maximizing operational efficiency through continued process improvement, creation and control. As a detailed planner, you will help fellow management staff in the planning and execution of key deliverables. As a member of our Divisional Management Team, you will play a key role in obtaining profit contribution for our location while helping lead staff on the strategic direction and business objectives put forth by the General Manager, National and Executive Management Teams.

You will be responsible for setting a good working example and maintaining a positive work environment. Developing strong working relationships and clear communication between all departments is imperative.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**

**Processes / SOP’s**
- Work with the management team to assist in updating, creating and maintaining all Operations Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) including Production, Distribution, Propagation and Maintenance.
- Value Stream Mapping and Elimination of waste.
- Update, create and maintain departmental KPI’s in conjunction with GM.
- Build/implement new tools/models to expand departmental visibility and track KPI’s

**Planning & Execution**
- Work with the General Manager to create and develop Operational plans to successfully execute divisional production and distribution plans
- Work with the General Manager to assist in creation of financial and operational budgets
- Help facilitate execution of departmental plans assisting other Managers to maximize efficiency to meet and exceed departmental KPI’s
- Ensure best practices are in place to monitor departmental KPI’s, increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Gather and present at least three quotes, estimates and options surround capital and process improvements
- Manage and direct CAPEX and regulatory related projects

***Health & Safety**
- Oversee daily compliance inspections of facilities, equipment and processes to ensure compliance with all Ministry regulations and BTN policies

**Production/Distribution**
- Working with the Distribution Plan Manager, assist in the packaging, planning and execution of all shipments in and out of the Division with special focus on process and maximizing efficiency
- Working with the Production Plan Manager, assist in the planning and execution of the Divisional Production plan with special focus on process and maximizing efficiency
- Work with Management team to ensure that all areas of the nursery are in the best possible conditions according to the season, with the goal of always having them “Tour Ready”

**Staff Management**
- Work with the Operations & Labour Manager to assist in training, coaching, counseling and disciplining departmental staff while creating an environment that allows all staff the opportunity to offer information and opinions
- Implement strategies to identify, develop and retain key personnel
- Coordinate with GM and HR on any departmental policy or labour requirements

**Reporting**
- Responsible for submitting any daily, weekly, monthly or annual reports to the General Manager when requested and to perform specific ad hoc reports where necessary

***JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Senior Level Management Experience. Proven.
- Systems and Process driven
- Excellent ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Excellent computer skills - Excel focused, ability to learn new software systems.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Excellent Operations Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Extensive Horticultural Background/Experience a plus
- Excellent Management skills supported by proven track record.
- Ability to oversee/lead/supervise 150+ staff at peak
- Excellent ability to create/analyze/critique processes/SOP’s and pursue continuous improvement and efficiency.
- KPI development experience.
- LEI training preferred.
- Possess excellent math skill level.
