This position can be based in any of Triton’s office locations. Triton offices are located in Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince George, Vernon, Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Regina.

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. is seeking new talent to fill Environmental Monitor positions in all our offices (Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince George, Vernon, Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Calgary, Edmonton, Sakatoon and Regina).

THE ROLE

Monitoring compliance with applicable environmental requirements and commitments, including Environmental Protection Plans and work plan
Recommending best practices and mitigation measures to manage environmental concerns during construction
Recommending erosion and sediment control measures and monitoring installation
Supervising soil salvage and handling procedures
Conducting wildlife surveys, migratory and breeding bird/nest surveys, and amphibian salvages
Monitoring water quality and conducting fish salvages
Responding to environmental emergencies on construction sites
Performing equipment inspections for fluid leaks and assisting with spill prevention and response
Preparing daily and weekly summary reports
Attending project and safety meetings
Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE**:
BSc. or technical diploma in biology, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, or related degree
Minimum of five years of experience as an environmental monitor or inspector in a construction environment
P. Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., or equivalent registration with a professional regulatory body is an asset
Extensive knowledge of construction site erosion and sediment control measures and best management practices
Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, and policies to ensure project-specific compliance
Experienced in fish salvage, water quality monitoring, pre-construction bird sweeps, and amphibian salvage
Adept in the operation and maintenance of required field equipment
Ability to identify and mitigate issues rapidly to ensure compliance within an active construction work environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, agencies, and co-workers
Proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
Detail oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills
Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
Must be willing to work on a 2-week work rotation
Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
Experience operating off-highway vehicles
