Victor is currently recruiting for a **Bilingual** **Claims Examiner** in our Errors and Omissions Department to work with independent adjusters, technical experts, and legal counsel to develop and coordinate defence strategies to bring professional liability insurance claims to a prompt and final resolution.

**We will count on you to**:

- Review and assess new claims to determine coverage and take appropriate action.
- Retain and instruct lawyers/adjusters when required.
- Receive and review reports from service providers.
- Determine liability, value of claim, service provider fees and sets reserves accordingly.
- Coordinate and control progress of files including liaison with lawyers, adjusters, insurers and insureds.
- Prepare and maintain reports and correspondence pertinent to ongoing operation.
- Liaise with underwriting department with respect to claims.
- Respond to brokers/insureds/insurers inquiries.
- Report to insurers on large claims and presents files at semi-annual insurer meetings.
- Prepare for and attends settlement conferences and mediations.
- Conduct internal audits.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to insureds and brokers as well as “in-house” presentations/seminars.
- May be required to write loss control bulletins and claims procedures discussion papers.
- May be required to participate in loss control seminars and company events.
- Travel may be required.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**What you need to have**:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
- Education background and work experience relating to one or more of the following areas: insurance, claims adjusting, legal, accounting, financial, economics, medical or mathematics field.
- Effective problem solver and strong analytical skills in order to analyze problems and develop/implement effective solutions.
- Exceptional customer service skills in order to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Service oriented professional with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively function in a team environment.
- High attention to detail
